Duncan is the Vice President of Global Industries at Confluent.
He has spent the last 25 years working at the intersection of business and technology to help solve complex problems by using new technologies in the most appropriate way. The approach Duncan takes is simply to spend a lot of time working in and around the organizations he is trying to help, and getting to understand those businesses in great detail. Most of these solutions have involved data and analytics, and at Confluent the ability to solve challenges driven by data in motion.
He has focussed heavily on the financial services industry, having spearheaded a diverse range of solutions from low-latency trading through to market risk, fraud detection, and wealth management. This has involved working with clients in the USA, Europe, Asia, and Australia.
At Confluent he is building teams to cover multiple industries.
His career has involved a number of industry roles in global software firms, most recently at Splunk, and previously at Qlik, SAS, and Sybase.
Duncan lives in London, but travels frequently.
