Public Sector Summit to Feature Data Innovators Sharing Best Practices

Verfasst von

The record-breaking attendance at our last two DC-area Data in Motion tour events told us there is a thirst for information on how to implement data streaming in government environments, whether you’re improving services, incorporating IoT data, or complying with new regulations and mandates.

We’ve answered your demand and are proud to present the first Confluent Public Sector Summit. Taking place October 26 at the Westin in Tysons Corner, this full-day event will feature presentations from government executives, industry leaders, and members of academia detailing the success and challenges of using government data in new ways.

The 2023 Public Sector Summit will bring together a community of technology leaders and developers in government to explore the vision and future of data streaming when it comes to powering mission outcomes, better serving citizens, ensuring security and compliance, and maximizing productivity.

To kick off the day, we are proud to welcome Young J. Bang, Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Army, as our keynote speaker. He will discuss the value of shifting to a data-centric model for the Army and how that is being powered by a data mesh architecture.

Talking data technology with peers across the public sector

There’s plenty of great tech innovation happening across public sector organizations, and the summit is your chance to dive deep into what a modern data infrastructure looks like, with insights from leaders and peers as you build your infrastructure to meet modern demands. Citizens want real-time data, while productivity across teams, agencies, and departments needs shared data to make complex decisions faster. And data streaming can ensure data centricity, plus help build a bridge to cloud or re-platform legacy technology.

Additional sessions at the summit include:

  • Keynote - Young Bang, Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Army

  • CDO Panel – data is the new currency driving better customer interactions. Find out how Chief Digital Officers (CDOs)  are transforming how they interact with constituents, featuring:

    • Captain Brian Erickson, CDAO with USCG

    • Elizabeth Puchek, CDO with USCIS

    • Carin Quiroga, CDO from ICE

  • Securing Resilient Critical Infrastructure Panel – discussion of the cyberdefense of our critical infrastructure with a data-centric approach, featuring:

    • Dr. Tina Rodrigue, CISO at the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB)

    • Harrison Smith, Director, Enterprise Digitalization at the IRS

    • Dr. Kelly Rose, Technical Director at the National Energy Technology Laboratory

    • Brian Conrad, Director, FedRAMP & Secure Cloud Division at GSA

You’ll have time as well for more informal, interactive discussions on topics including SIEM, cybersecurity, data fabric, data pipeline, edge computing, cloud connectors, and more.

Thanks to our sponsors Swish Data, Elastic, ASRC Federal, Carahsoft, Norseman Defense Technologies and Dots and Bridges—they’ll also join  to offer answers and advice on how to tackle the unique challenges you are facing.

Don’t wait, register today. Look forward to seeing you on October 26!
