Is Kafka worth learning?

Certification is a good differentiator in the job market. You can show your current employer that you are well-versed in Apache Kafka – something which can help during salary negotiations and promotion discussions. If you're looking for a new job, you can use the Certification to stand out from the crowd.

How is the Certification exam administered?

Our Certification exams are 90 minute proctored and timed multiple-choice exams. Our proctored Exams can be taken remotely from anywhere in the world that meet internet, security and privacy requirements or can be taken at an available testing center world-wide. If taking the exam remotely, the candidate must have a Webcam, and the proctor monitors the student for the duration of the exam. What training classes should I take to prepare for the exam?

It is not required that you attend a training class prior to your exam; however, taking recommended training will assist you in exam preparation. We recommend you review the online study guide for the exam you are preparing to take.

How do I register to take a Confluent Certification exam?

Confluent Certification exams are scheduled and proctored online through Prometric. First, you must create a user profile on our training site. From here, you can either purchase an exam license key or redeem an existing license key. Purchased license keys will be emailed to you within several minutes.

You will then redeem the license key within the training site. To schedule your exam, navigate to the My Account tab, then select My Learning. Next, go to the “Certification” tab and click “View Details” on the newly subscribed exam. When you are ready to schedule your exam, select “Schedule Now” within the “Scheduling Options” dialogue box.

Am I required to sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) before taking a Confluent Certification exam?

To preserve the security and value of the certification program, all candidates must accept the terms and conditions of the Confluent Certification Program Agreement during the registration process and at the beginning of any Confluent certification exam. Read the agreement in full before scheduling your exam. If you are not willing to be bound by the Agreement, you will not be allowed to take the exam.

What if I need to cancel my exam?

Candidates may reschedule or cancel an appointment five (5) or more calendar days prior to the appointment date.

Within 5 days of the appointment date, rescheduling of an appointment is not available. Candidates who cancel within 5 days of the appointment date will need to reapply before scheduling a new appointment. If you fail to cancel or reschedule within that time frame, your exam fees will be nonrefundable.

Confluent Certification is not affiliated with the Apache Software Foundation.

I have a disability that might affect my performance on a certification exam. What accommodations are available?

If you have a disability, we are committed to making reasonable efforts to accommodate you, as required by law. Please contact certification@confluent.io at least 21 days in advance of your test date to discuss available accommodations.

What if I am worried about my computer or operating system not working?

To ensure there will be no issues completing your exam, your system must meet certain requirements. Prior to your exam launch, visit https://rpcandidate.prometric.com/ to install the ProProctor Application and perform a System Check. If your internet speed does not meet these requirements, your exam attempt may be forfeited. If you have any questions or concerns, you can contact Prometric support from this page.

What should I have when taking a Confluent Certification exam?

For remote exams, you will need a computer with a video camera, audio (both microphone and speaker capability), a browser, and a strong internet connection. You must have a government ID to verify your identity prior to starting an exam.

For in-person exams, you must have a government ID to verify your identity prior to starting an exam. The proctor at the testing center will assign you a workstation to complete your exam

Can I use reference materials during the Certification exam?

The use of reference materials and mobile phones is prohibited during the certification examination.

When will I get my exam results?

After completing your exam, you will receive results immediately on the testing screen.

What will I receive after passing the exam?

If you pass the exam, you will earn the certification credential and be authorized to use the certification title and logo on your business cards and other professional collateral, in accordance with the Confluent Certification Agreement.

Does the Certification expire?

Yes. The Certification expires after two years. You will be required to re-certify every 2 years.

Do I get a digital badge after I pass the confluent certification exam?

Yes. Upon passing a Confluent certification exam, you will receive an email with instructions about how to access the Confluent digital badges and certificates If you do not receive the email, please check your spam folder.

What is a digital badge?

Digital badges can be added to your email signature to convey your professional designation or added to your LinkedIn certifications in 1-click. The digital badge you will receive is a way for you to share and validate your achievement. The certification it represents can easily be verified by viewers at any time, and the online view of the badge will communicate it’s up-to-date status to anyone attempting to verify it. When you share your badge, viewers can immediately see information about your knowledge and skills.

Can I use the Confluent Certification Logo on my business cards?

Yes. You can use the Certification logo as long as you keep an “Active” certification status.
