The Salesforce Source Connector integrates Salesforce.com with Apache Kafka.
The Salesforce connector provides the capability to capture changes from Salesforce.com via
Salesforce Streaming API PushTopics or
Salesforce Enterprise Messaging Platform Events.
This plugin contains two connectors.
The `SalesforcePushTopicSourceConnector` subscribes to a PushTopic,
captures the create, update, delete, and undelete events related to Salesforce Objects (SObjects),
and writes those events to Apache Kafka.
This connector will use an existing named PushTopic if one exists, or it will
create a PushTopic with the specified name and type of SObject.
The `SalesforcePlatformEventSourceConnector` subscribes to user defined Platform Events and writes them to Kafka.
You must first define the Platform Event in Salesforce before starting this connector.
Use the Confluent Hub client to install this connector with:
confluent-hub install confluentinc/kafka-connect-salesforce:1.1.2
Or download the ZIP file and extract it into one of the directories that is listed on the Connect worker's plugin.path configuration properties. This must be done on each of the installations where Connect will be run. See here for more detailed instructions.
Once installed, you can then create a connector configuration file with the connector's settings, and deploy that to a Connect worker. See here for more detailed instructions.
Source code is not available for this connector.
