Gwen Shapira is a Software Enginner at Confluent. She has 15 years of experience working with code and customers to build scalable data architectures, integrating relational and big data technologies. She currently specialises in building real-time reliable data processing pipelines using Apache Kafka. Gwen is an Oracle Ace Director, an author of books including “Kafka, the Definitive Guide”, and a frequent presenter at data related conferences. Gwen is also a committer on the Apache Kafka and Apache Sqoop projects.

David Peterson

David Peterson, Systems Engineer, Confluent

David Peterson leads Confluent’s APAC systems strategy and implementation with new and existing clients along with the technical implementation across the region. David has over 21 years’ experience in the tech/online space and over 11 years with large scale Open Source systems. He has lead some of the largest Open Source projects in the APAC region with a standout being the lead architect and security consultant on the Australian Government whole-of-government online rollout.
