Wildlife monitoring is essential for keeping track of animal movement patterns & understanding their population change. The tricky part however can be finding & identifying Koalas, Kangaroos and other species in the real world.
This project is a demonstration of using a Raspberry Pi and camera, Apache Kafka, Kafka Connect to identify and classify animals. Stream transformation performed using ksqlDB processes the individual animal observations to generate dashboards to understand population trends over time.
As part of the ""Confluent Hackathon 22"" this was a fun project to demonstrate how components can be integrated quickly will be a small part in helping us solve real world wildlife challenges
